Following Energy for Change Makers

stop pushing and start flowing in work and life

with energy focused

embodied leadership training

“I joined so I could be a better leader at work, but what I also got was how to be a better leader inside myself, and to recognize what I want and need from the leadership of others.”

— Christina, Editorial Director and Head of Creative

Embodied. Paradigm-shifting. Trauma informed. Somatic. Co-creative. Intuitive.

There’s a new level of awareness emerging for those of us who want to create a different culture – a different future – for ourselves, our families, and Earth.

We recognize that the old systems are broken. Climate change is undeniable. We feel it in our bones.

It’s time to find, and live, another way.

And yet, how can you get from understanding a need for change to embodying that change in life, work and leadership?

How can you be a force for good in a broken world without breaking yourself?

Practice.

To help change makers stop pushing and start experiencing creative flow in work and life, I’ve designed an incubator-like leadership growth and development journey which also includes individual mentoring.

While there’s a clear structure and framework, this is not your typical leadership growth and development journey.

Keep reading to see if this embodied leadership training — and practice — is for you.

You’re a dynamic person – a learner, seeker, grower – committed to doing inner work through therapy, coaching, conscious eating, yoga and/or maybe even psychedellics.

While you may or may not consider yourself a leader, you’re often the one who shows up and takes responsibility. In fact, you’re a badass with a contributing heart — a change maker.

Specifically, you might:

  • Own your business, practice or consultancy

  • Hold a leading role in your organization or company

  • Find yourself managing and facilitating people, teams or projects

  • Hold transformational spaces for others as a therapist, coach, teacher, healer

You might be tired. You’re definitely tired of pushing. Tired of running on fumes. Tired of feeling like you’re going it alone.

You know how to push through depletion to make work happen, but you’ve come to a point where you’ve realized how pushing through has burned you out. Hurt your relationships. And in some cases, led to chronic illness.

You’re probably a recovering type-A personality who needs more time to recover. You see the damage caused by interlocking systems of domination steeped in codependency, white supremacy, intergenerational trauma (and more, sigh).

You want to practice “codependent no more” with your work, as a facilitator for teams and projects, in relationship with others, and across your whole life.

You also want to earn a good living.

The inner work you’ve done has been great but lately it seems like something’s missing, like a missing piece

You want to find a way to do work that matters without sacrificing yourself. And this means getting better at making decisions where you matter too.

You want to find a different pace that you can live into everyday.

Therapy or coaching has helped you realize that pushing through isn’t sustainable.

You can sense there’s another level of something that’s possible, but you don’t know how to get there.

You do know that you’d like to meet some other people like you: kindred travelers committed to walking their talk.

You’re also excited to explore what another paradigm of work and leadership might look like. Feel like. Be like.

It’s time to change the way you’ve been doing things, but you’re not sure how to do that exactly. This embodied leadership training will show you how.

To be able to make more of a difference, you need some more energy. Or better yet, you want to learn how to shift your energy.

You’re ready for another way.

If we haven’t met, I’m Staci Boden.

I’m a somatic energy guide, teacher, coach and mentor. I’m also a relationship midwife, seasoned group facilitator and badass heart-centered leader.

A gif of Staci bobbing her head as she talks about somatic practices.

I’ve been practicing another way for over 20 years.

It’s called following energy.

I wrote a book about following energy featuring eight teachers: fear, awareness, choice, body, intuition, energy, intention and surrender. These eight teachers provide a structure and framework so you can start to follow the energy of work, leadership and life in your unique way.

A blue graphic with green leaves outlines 8 teachers used in embodied leadership.

Growing a relationship with these eight teachers daily through paying attention to your body and noticing everyday occurrences is a foundation for following energy.

Following energy can help you balance taking care of yourself with work that matters to you.

It can help you find your own pace between resting and being productive.

It can even expand potential beyond what you can imagine.

But here’s the edge.

If we’re going to do this work together, it will mean getting a bit wild.

“Since Following Energy for Change Makers, I feel stronger showing up as a leader. I feel like I have a lot more certainty about my role and more trust in my own leadership capabilities.”

— Jacqui, CEO

“This was a wonderful experience. I’m so grateful to have participated. I felt like the timing of being in this group, combined with my own personal journey, really accelerated my self-confidence and clarity about what I want in my next life chapter. Thank you!”

Following Energy for Change Makers

A four-month leadership growth and development journey of shared learning, 1:1 mentoring, somatic practices, and attuned support so that you can re-imagine and embody your relationship with work, leadership and change-making.

Energy is alive.

Energy talks. Shows. Guides. Teaches. Energy reveals stuckness as well as flow.

Energy can be soft, flat or rollicking. Energy can be heartbreaking. Energy can be pleasurable. You can play with energy. You can boundary energy. You can dance with energy.

Following energy is an empowering and creative somatic practice for balancing self-care with growing capacity and expanding potential.

The heart of following means learning to journey through the unknown.

And so, our practice begins by going on a journey together.

Program Details

I enjoyed the content as it felt more aligned with the way I want to lead than the dozens of business books and self-help books I have read before. Very embodied and not focused on ‘efficient optimization’ or ‘hacking.’

A LIVE INDIVIDUAL 45-MINUTE INTENTION SETTING SESSION WITH ME (ON ZOOM)

To start off our embodied leadership training, we’ll enjoy an individual moment to settle in.

I want to get to know you more.

What about following energy calls you? What inspires you in work (and life!)? Where do you feel stuck? What do you need out of this leadership growth and development journey?

In this conversation, I’ll help you craft a powerful intention to make the most of your experience with following energy.

“I absolutely loved setting the intention and having the 1:1 session with Staci to support that process. I also especially loved the exercise to help our intention come alive…. And really loved the weekend retreat! So much to love, so many wonderful gems - they are now tools for me that are so valuable.”

8 VIRTUAL GROUP DATES AND STRUCTURE

The best way to really learn how to follow energy with me is through activating my book material, Turning Dead Ends into Doorways.

And so, our leadership growth and development circles will feature the eight teachers from my book -- fear, awareness, choice, body, energy, intention, energy and surrender – as a flexible framework for your journey.

If you like to read, you’ll have access to the book itself. And if you prefer audio learning, there will be audio recordings and/or podcast episodes available as well.

Ultimately, this isn’t about book learning but life learning.

Relating your intention to each teacher will start a conversation with yourself and daily life.

Our circles will include energy mentoring and guided imagery practices with me.

We’ll also have dynamic conversations where you explore questions and experiences as change makers to facilitate community and make following energy practical in your work, leadership (and personal) lives.

“I loved being in a group setting with people interested in alternative paradigms of leadership. Very often you have to slide into ways of being in the world that you don’t want to emulate or don’t necessarily fit. To come into a room of people who are successful and powerful and who don’t want to keep doing that made me feel like I wasn’t alone in wanting a different way.”

UNLIMITED ASYNCHRONOUS 1:1 MENTORING

Going on a journey to follow the energy of your potential initiates an alchemical process.

A good intention –which I will help you identify – is going to stir things up in your body and daily life.

Synchronicity will appear.

Things may get a bit wild during this leadership skills training, remember?

And so, you’re encouraged to continue the conversation with me as much as you want via WhatsApp or email or Loom from Tuesday - Saturdays with a two-day turn around on my end (because: boundaries). And I will reach out to you at least once a week to connect.

You’re going to learn how to follow energy with me at your side.

We’re going to have some wild fun together.

“The one-to-one asynchronous mentoring was outstanding. I couldn't believe I could just leave as many voice messages as I wanted, and I'd always get a response. Staci would send a message or a picture or a video of the ocean because she knew that it calms me. It's like, what? I don't know how she had the capacity to extend that much care on an individual level. That was something I've looked for and not found in other one-to-one dynamics, and it was such a gift, really healing, and tremendously valuable.”

— Christina, Editorial Director and Head of Creative

1:1 CHANGE MAKER TIME

Change makers from earlier sessions have offered some feedback about the leadership skills training with you in mind.

More individual time, please. And help us help ourselves.

They SO enjoyed meeting and learning together, that they wanted to connect directly one to one. Some did but others had such a full plate, it didn’t happen. They missed each other.

Being leaders and often program creators in their own right, they gave it to me straight, “Staci, make it a requirement for us to meet individually. We can rotate through a person or so a month. Help us calendar it.”

Have I mentioned how much I like people who say what they need?

Message received.

You’ll receive help with scheduling monthly 1:1 time with peers.

FWIW, future change makers have been thrilled with this new “requirement” .

In fact, some participants enjoyed connecting so much, they began working together after our program ended. YES!

“Asynchronous mentoring was one of my favorite parts of the experience. The weekly check-ins from Staci were VERY helpful as reminders of the content and to think about how the concepts were showing up in my daily life. I loved that it was a tool I already use daily and easily fit into the flow of my day.”

TWO BONUS GROUPS (OPTIONAL)

Embodying Leadership Training

A big part of being the change and embodying a new paradigm of leadership is an inside job.

Trauma and codependency and power-over ways of being exist in our blood, relationships, work and life.

Of course this impacts our ability to lead and to be good leaders.

Early in our journey, we’ll explore a tool for transforming codependent prescribed roles based on choice as a teacher from my book. This also offers insight for shifting from a power-over into power-with paradigm.

About a month later, you’ll also be invited to a bonus two hour training with trauma literacy coach and facilitator Carlee Adamson and myself.

Together, we’ll share thoughts and somatic practices for decoding trauma and transforming codependency within yourself and as a change maker practicing leadership towards a more just world.

Virtual Restorative Retreat

In the midst of transformational learning journeys it’s important to give yourself a moment to rest. So you can reflect. Let go. Notice what you’ve been noticing. Allow yourself to wander. Wonder. And bask.

Integration is key for expanding capacity and development.

And so the last month (or so) of Following Energy for Change Makers includes a three hour restorative (virtual) retreat.

This focus will include reflection and somatic practices set to music.

Within that, it’s all about you.

Based on what the group wants (and needs), I’ll draw upon my vast experience with somatic practice and energy healing including guided visualization, dance, and/or breathwork to create a delicious integrative experience.

Usually held on a Saturday, these entirely optional gatherings offer an opportunity to rest, release, replenish.

You actually don’t want to miss it if at all possible.

“The opportunity to sit with the kind of people who come to Staci’s groups is a particular gift. It’s rare to get to be with the reflection and accountability and presence these folks bring.

I’ve not only formed lifelong friendships but Staci’s groups have been a place I’ve wanted to bring some of my closest people.

In terms of creating virtual community, Staci’s groups have an alchemy of being in village in a way we don’t get, especially in our leadership lives.”

— Carlee Adamson, Trauma Literacy founder, coach, educator

YOUR VERY OWN PRIVATE FOLLOWING ENERGY COMMUNITY PORTAL

Finally, you’ll receive access to a private Following Energy community portal online. This space will provide:

  • Additional resources related to each teacher (podcasts, songs, etc.)

  • Practices to help you deepen your relationship with the teachers (downloadable)

  • Reflection prompts to encourage wisdom sharing and community support

Following energy is a great way to learn how to translate feelings, thoughts, awarenesses (all forms of energy) into constructive guides and information from which to achieve personal or professional life goals and intentions.

“I’m a recovering Type A personality and I was always taught to make decisions from my logical brain by considering all of the data and possible outcomes.

Learning to follow energy made me realize it was kind of like using a Dollar Store calculator instead accessing a super computer.

Following energy taught me how to listen to my body and the people around me, to notice where there was flow and blockages. I was then able to tap into a deeper wisdom and to start making better decisions, faster, with less second-guessing, and less exhaustion.”

Give yourself 3 minutes with Carlee Adamson, founder of Trauma Literacy, change maker and beloved who has inspired many of my groups, and even my book over a decade ago.

I’m thrilled she and I are co-facilitating a bonus training session on decoding trauma and codependency for embodying a more co-creative paradigm of change making within yourself, work, and leadership.

A love note for change makers interested in this embodied leadership training program (and a secret)

If you’re still reading, thank you.

I’m going to tell you a secret in a minute but first, I need to share a bit about my people.

I get to support the most amazing heart-centered smart badass humans dedicated to intentional living. Ever.

These folks have been working damn hard to do great work for a long (long) time.

But they keep bumping up against resistance.

Some of the resistance comes from people or organizations who say they want change but aren’t walking their talk. And some it stems from power-over systemic injustice.

It can feel exhausting—and lonely—to keep standing up for change out there on your own.

Here’s the secret part.

As grateful as I am to be their pillar, awhile back I started feeling called to create a space to connect these kinds of people with each other– which might also be you.

It was time.

Time to gather a circle of leaders and change-makers to see what can happen when we follow energy in community together.

Time to create a circle for you to support and collaborate with each other directly.

During our first meeting in the last cohort, after listening to people introduce themselves, a participant bursted out, “I am so glad to meet you all. You are just the kind of people I hoped would be here!”

Not only did we explore the meaning of following energy step by step together, the change makers present exchanged powerful stories to deepen insight about leadership, particularly discussing individual and group facilitation.

Some moments felt intimate and even healing.

Other moments generated new ideas for how to activate a different paradigm in the workplace. In real time.

After facilitating groups for over 20 years, I’ve learned that each group has its own unique flavor.

Our last circle was not only exciting and delicious, it was soulful. Nourishing. Funny. Restorative.

I wonder what kind of delicious might be next?

  • “Before, as a leader, it felt like my job was to have all the answers and to make the 'right' decisions. It was all on my shoulders. When you’re following energy, it’s more of a co-creative experience with unknown potential and with your team. It’s about “What’s the right next step to move us in the direction that we want to go?” rather than “We have to find the right decision or everything’s going to fall apart.”

Miki Johnson, founder, leadership coach, somatic energy guide
